Dr. Kleio received her DDS in dentistry in 2007 from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. In 2008, she moved to Boston, USA where she was a research associate for two years at Harvard University at the Departments of Experimental Medicine and Oral Epidemiology. In 2013, she completed her Masters in Orthodontics from Tufts University in Boston. She has also completed a one-year fellowship from Toronto, Canada in orthodontics for children with cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies.
Dr. Kleio is an American Board-certified orthodontist. She has been a clinical instructor at the postgraduate orthodontic program at Dental School in Athens- Greece for two years. She has worked in several countries including Canada, Greece, France, and the UAE. Dr. Kleio’s areas of expertise in dentistry include interceptive/early/phase I orthodontic treatment, metal and clear braces, Invisalign, hybrid orthodontic treatment, orthognathic cases and orthodontics for children with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Dr. Kleio has researched on a vast array of topics in dentistry. Her subjects of research include bisphosphonates and osteonecrosis of the jaw, the possible association between medication during pregnancy and the development of cleft lip and palate, the dental anomalies associated with Pierre Robin sequence etc.
She has also delivered lectures on the orthodontic management of patients with cleft lip and cleft palate, and pre-infant orthopedics. She keeps herself up to date with the latest advancements in Orthodontics by attending continuing education seminars, study clubs and conferences every year.
She speaks English, Greek, and French.
Dr. Kleio was born and raised in Karditsa, a small city in the heart of Greece. As an Orthodontist, she feels privileged and fortunate to be able to improve her patients’ quality of life and self-esteem. She admires the patient-doctor relationship that is being built throughout the treatment process.
Dr. Kleio moved to Dubai in 2016 with her husband. She feels lucky that she made this choice four years ago and now she calls this city home. She loves the fact that it is a multicultural, vibrant, and safe city. “Throughout my life, I have learned to value and embrace diversity and individuality,’’ says Dr. Kleio. “Thus, Dubai was a great fit for me.” Dr. Kleio – being able to enjoy the beaches of the city most of the time during the year- perceives Dubai as an endless summer. The manifold opportunities and activities that Dubai offers for everyone excite her. She finds the city’s location very convenient as it is easy to travel to so many destinations from Dubai and explore different cultures. She certainly takes advantage of this!
Whenever she is not working, Dr. Kleio loves spending that time with her family and friends. She really enjoys Dubai’s nightlife, the beaches, and the traditional souks. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, organizing boarding games nights, traveling and the black and white street photography.
